Process

Here are the basics of the Net Zero Home Plan system:

  • A Panelized System Built Home using Ferrocement (or a paneled standard sheathing for those that prefer), galvanized metal studs with insulation and galvanized expanded metal lath with additives containing waterproofing, corrosion inhibitors and polymers for flexibility. Waterproof, crackproof, termite proof using recycled and sustainable materials.

  • A true net zero home – that can have a complete solar system that provides your home all the electricity it needs – no electricity bills ever! Can even be Off-Grid!

  • Monocoque construction.  The outer skin is stronger than block

​

  • ECO Friendly blown insulation far exceeds code and gives a 50% reduction of heating or cooling loads – a true passive house design

  • LED lighting standard – never buy another incandescent light bulb, get better illumination, and save 85% on electricity!

  • Up to twice as fast as conventional build with home panel walls erected in one day.   With roof and ferro cement skin dry in between 3-5 days.

The plans include detailed, dimensioned floor and foundation plans, wall panel details, elevations, electric layouts, plumbing layouts, mechanical layouts, cross sections, roof plans, cabinet layouts and elevations, as well as general specifications and a general primer on ferrocement.

PLEASE NOTE: Depending on your location you will need specific engineering for your plans that will need to be designed, signed and sealed by a licensed Engineer. In some states, you may also a professional stamp (e.g. Nevada) by an architect/engineer.  You will also need a specific site plan for your project showing the home located on your property. This may require services and utility tie ups to existing services and/or the provision of new services (e.g. Septic tank if not on a sanitary sewer system). A local Civil Engineer/Surveyor can supply these. You will need area specific energy load calculations that will differ depending on orientation of the home and specific site location. The foundations indicated are for universal conditions and do not address your specific site. Soil samples should be taken at the site by a competent local soil testing laboratory. The foundation will then be designed by a local structural engineer to comply with the findings and recommendations of the soil testing laboratory.

The purchasing of plans from Net Zero Home Plan allows for a one-time use of these plans and does not transfer ownership of the plan to the purchaser.

This limited license allows for the reproduction of the plans by the purchaser for their one-time project, and the use of the electronic (pdf) plans to obtain quotes/additional professional assistance as detailed above.
